MindBloom Learning: "The Big Bang & Outer Space"

Who's ready for a scientific summer? Recent PIHS graduate Neja Jayasundara is bringing a love of science to the Library with her 10-session summer learning program: MindBloom. This interactive curriculum covers a variety of fields with the goal of teaching young minds the joy of curiosity and science. Attend as many or as few sessions as you like, and attend 5 or more to receive a special "graduation" perk at the end!

This program is designed for ages 5-8, and takes place Mondays & Tuesdays at 2PM beginning June 30th. In the event of exceeded capacity in the storytime room, sessions will move to the Akeley Gallery. This event is FREE and open to the public, no registration required!

Below are the topics for sessions 1 - 10:
1. What is Science?
2. The Five Senses
3. The Eyes & Light
4. The Ears & Sound
5. Taste, the Mouth, and Digestion
6. Touch, Smell, & Germs
7. Cells: the Building Blocks of Life
8. Simple Chemistry
9. The Big Bang & Outer Space
10. Wrap-Up: "I'm a Scientist!" (review, celebration, & mini science fair!)
