The NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting course is a great way for you to learn the basics of shotgun shooting from the top firearms training organization in the world!
Regardless of your age, gender or experience, completing the NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course class will change your life! You will learn to be in control of your firearm whether you're hunting, competing in a match, or just plinking on the range.
Rhoades Training Group does not allow the recording of any video or audio during classes (YouTube Content Creators may with permission).
We will cover the following subjects:
Lesson I: Shotgun Knowledge and Safe Handling
Lesson II: Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Shotgun Shooting
Lesson III: Firing the First Shots
Lesson IV: Shotgun and the Shooting Skills Practical Exercise
Lesson V: Continued Opportunities for Shotgun Skill Development
Prerequisites: None.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
• One (1) open mind
• Shotgun. Shotguns are also available for students to borrow during the course.
• 100 rounds of 7 ½ or 8’s target loads
• Sling (2-point recommended)
• Eye and Ear protection
• Pencil and note pad
• Cleaning and lubrication equipment
• Appropriate range attire. Brimmed Hat and Closed toed footwear
• Lunch and Drinking water (CamelBak Recommended)
• Rain gear (Optional)
• Bug Spray and Sunblock (Optional)
• Knee Pads (Optional)
Completion of the NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course course is a prerequisite for many other courses as this is where our core doctrinal principles are ingrained. You will only receive a certificate of successful completion by participating 100% in class.
