Join the Colonial Lacemakers on Saturday, July 12 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM for a Lacemaking Workshop at Arts on Main!
This workshop will begin with a short talk about a group of laces popular in the 19th century that were made by creating small designs and adding them to the background net. These were expensive and were called part laces. The workshop will then use beginning lace-making stitches using cotton thread, bobbins, and a lacemaker’s pillow to make a gold tassel to take home with them.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor. Bring a friend and come learn the art of lacemaking!
