July Full Moon Walk

July’s full moon is known as the Buck Moon, named for the time of year when male deer begin to grow their new antlers. Join Ranger Clare for a peaceful evening hike under the light of this beautiful summer moon. As we walk the trails of Seven Islands, we’ll explore the nocturnal side of the park—listening for owls, watching for bats, and maybe even catching a glimpse of fireflies or beavers near the water. This is a unique way to experience the park’s natural beauty after dark.
Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:30 PM. We will walk approximately 2.5 miles on a combination of paved and unpaved trails. For more details about the route, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
The cost of the program is $12.00 per person. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please dress for the weather and bring a flashlight—red or colored lights are preferred to help protect night vision. Bring water, and wear sturdy walking shoes. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
