**Pre-registration is required for this event.**
What comes alive when the sun goes down? Discover the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife during our Creatures of the Night program at Seven Islands State Birding Park! We’ll start with a presentation in the classroom at the Bluebird Barn, where you’ll learn about fireflies, bats, owls, moths, and other animals that thrive after dark. Then we’ll head out on a guided walk to listen, look, and experience the park through the senses of these nighttime specialists.
This program is recommended for curious naturalists of all ages. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:00 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2.5 miles on a mix of paved and unpaved trails. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will last about 2.5 hours, beginning indoors with a presentation and followed by a guided walk.
The cost of this program is $15 for adults and $8.00 for kids under 12.
Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes and a water bottle. Red-filtered flashlights are encouraged but should only be used when needed to avoid disturbing wildlife. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
