Sunset Paddle on the French Broad

Bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and join park rangers for a relaxing sunset paddle on the beautiful French Broad River! As we explore this ancient and winding river, we’ll take in the evening sights and sounds of the park and learn more about the history of the French Broad, the unique ecology of the area, and the birds that call Seven Islands home.
This program is recommended for ages 12 and up. Please meet at the Kelly Lane boat launch at 7:00 PM. Participants should bring their own watercraft, paddles, and personal flotation devices (PFDs), along with sunscreen and drinking water. We will paddle to the bridge where we will watch the sunset. Park staff will transport boats back while participants hike approximately 1.5 miles back to the parking area enjoying the sounds and sights of the night. The cost of this program is $15 per participant.
Please wear clothing that can get wet, and sturdy water shoes or sandals with straps. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals. Bring any additional gear needed for your safety and comfort on the water.
