Join the Menomonie Historical Society and the U.P. Trappers Association for a "Trapper's Gathering" September 14th.
Chappee - Weber Learning Center will be open at 11:00 for families to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds. The presentation by the U.P. Trappers Association will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Participants will learn all about trapping, its history and how Chappee Rapids played part in Menomonie's history. After the presentation, the building of a weasel trap will be brought to the children courtesy of the trapping association. Limited spaces are available for this activity so please RSVP by August 31st, here on the event page so we have enough building material for everybody to learn and enjoy.
Limited seating is available under the covered pavilion so just in case please bring a blanket or chairs to sit on if you wish for the presentation. This event is free, though a free will donation is greatly appreciated. An outhouse is available on the premises.
