Summer Solstice Community Paddle

Join us for a free community paddle to celebrate the longest day of the year, the summer solstice! This is a great way to meet new friends and explore a flatwater section of the beautiful Buckhannon River. This paddle is hosted by our Water Trail Steward Volunteer Will Evans. After the paddle, we will go to Dairy Queen and enjoy some sweet treats 🍨
The details:
We’ll meet at North End Park at 5:30PM to unload gear, then set up a shuttle. We’ll get on the water at 6:00PM and paddle 4 miles to Pringle Tree Park. Both access site locations are carry down (no boat ramp), and will be muddy and slippery, so please use extreme caution when entering/exiting the water. This section is flatwater and is appropriate for all abilities.
Locations:
North End Park - 6th Street, Buckhannon
Pringle Tree Park - Pringle Tree Park Road, Buckhannon
Required gear:
life jacket, kayak/canoe/SUP, whistle, water, snacks, and flashlight since we’ll be out around dusk. Life jackets are required to be worn while on the water. Bring some money for our post-paddle trip to Dairy Queen!
