Obsessed with music as a child, Billy Appleton began drumming at the age of 9, playing in elementary and junior high stage bands until 14, when he picked up the guitar
Heavily influenced by rock and blues guitarists of the 60s and 70s he was bit by the Blues Bug in the early 90s, which transformed his approach to guitar and songwriting forever.
Early influences include everything from Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Alvin Lee to Johnny Winter, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Robin Trower, and the Alman Brothers Band, as well as blues legends such as 3 Kings,BB, Albert and Freddie, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Howlin
Wolf, Johnny Copeland, Willie Dixon, and Elmore James.
Today, Billy fronts The Billy Appleton Band, a highly sought-after group of musicians performing rock and blues from the 60s and 70s as well as a long list of originals throughout the Pacific Northwest and Beyond.
