Saturday 22nd November at The Old Cold Store!
CAPTAIN DANGEROUS!!!

For one night only! To celebrate 13 years since the album 'Forgive Us We're British' (recorded at their old practice room- JT Soar) and 20 years of I'm Not From London, we have a very special nostalg-esque gig for you for any fans of Captain Dangerous. They were our first signing to the label and are all very dear friends. For those of you who were there for the Rescue Rooms launch and the band in general Captain Dangerous were the quintessential indie pop band for Noughties Nottingham. Known for their wonky yet heartbreaking pop ballades with firm nods to Pavement and Blur glued together with bombastic orchestral arrangements.
Violinist Rob Rosa now heads up Symphonica but back is bringing his 12 piece string ensemble and for once in a very very long time, each one of the band is back in Notts and actually available and up for playing. This is very much worth celebrating.
We'd love for you all, old friends and new to come down and join us celebrating our birthdays, friendship and we've got a really special set in store for you all with a couple of local supports that we see so much potential in.
Come one, come all, come down, it will be beautiful, and as you all well know, everything beautiful.... reminds us of you!
"It's Nottingham's foremost exponents of weirdy/wiggly/left field pop, Captain Dangerous." - ArtRocker Magazine
“Captain Dangerous are an explosive five piece art pop band from Nottingham, England, United Kingdom. Formed in 2006 by former flatmates Adam Clarkson and Miles Clark whilst at the University of Lincoln and later joined by (former childhood bully of Adam) Mark Houlgate, Rob Rosa and Jamie Elliott, Captain Dangerous play music with a frothy melange of quirk-pop influences. Listen and you'll hear Pavement, The Cure, The Smiths, Flogging Molly, Arcade Fire, and the Violent Femmes.
"Plenty of Jonathan Richmond style grindings and a pop harmonic approach recalling early Teenage Fanclub and The Wedding Present are to be found via Jarvis for loucheness and fantastic songs.” - Bugbear Bookings
“Outrageously catchy melodies” - Mark Riley BBC 6music
