Duration: 2 Hours
Event Title: Shallow Depth of Field

Shallow Depth of Field
In this workshop, we will not only explore shallow depth of field, but wide angle field of view as well. Scott will teach you how to use an ordinary lens and multiple exposures to create stunning portraits with a very shallow depth of field AND a wide angle view. We will also use our time together to incorporate shallow depth of field to create portraits with eye-catching background bokeh.
Bring your favorite DSLR, fully charged battery, and plenty of room on an SD card. While any lens will work, a long telephoto lens or a long prime lens with a wide aperture will produce the most stunning results. Scott typically uses a 70 to 200mm 2.4 at 105mm. 50mm and 85mm can also work well.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the forecast calls for inclement weather. We will begin in Coolidge Park and then retire to Stone Cup Cafe where Scott will demonstrate various ways to process the images while we enjoy coffee or hot tea.
If you have a tripod, please bring it with you. Either a ball or gimbal head will work well. And, while using a tripod isn't absolutely necessary, it can make post-processing a bit easier.
