Kiski Area Class of '79 and Friends Annual Gathering: Oktoberfest Style!

Hi Everyone! Sorry it took me a while to get this posted (I miss Shellie here on FB but she has promised to help and be there for the event!) By a 2/1 margin we voted to divert from our usual date to hold our annual gathering in conjunction with the Vandergrift Oktoberfest again this year! The festival will be on Saturday, September 13th, and while the festival will run from noon to 10 pm, our gathering will go from 6 - 10. Out on the street there will be live music, German food and beer, dancing, etc. We will have access to the Vandergrift Market at 134 Grant Avenue where we will have some food (hotdogs, kraut, and pierogis, and iced tea/water) included for your suggested donation admission price of $5 per person. In addition to the donation, it would be great if you could bring some cookies or snacks to share. Feel free to bring your own preferred beverage, too, but know that any alcohol you bring must be consumed in the building and not on the street. You may consume drinks purchased from the brewery on the street. We will have a locked port-a-potty to be used just by our guests behind the Market building, too. Details for the Oktoberfest are still being developed, but for the past couple of years there has been shuttle service provided from the Fireman's field adjacent to the bypass (more details to follow) to downtown. So if parking is concerning, plan to take the free shuttle. As a reminder, this is not a formal class reunion, just a fun annual get together. Please spread the word to our classmates and friends from our era. All are welcome. If anyone wants to volunteer to help, let me know. On behalf of Shellie and the annual gathering crew, we hope to see you in September!
