Native Bees w/ OSU Pollinator Educator Denise Ellsworth

Join OSU Pollinator Education Program Director, Denise Ellsworth, to learn about Ohio’s native bees and why humans have little to fear from them. We’ll also consider practical steps gardeners can take to create or enhance habitat, including plant selection and simple design elements. By creating a patchwork of garden spaces that provide food and shelter for pollinators, people can positively impact the health and survival of these important creatures, while also providing calm beauty for family, friends, and neighbors.

Denise directs pollinator education programming through the Ohio State University Department of Entomology, a position she has held since 2012. In her Extension and outreach work, Denise supports and teaches beekeepers, farmers, gardeners and others across the state through a variety of workshops, webinars, written materials and electronic resources.
