Bird Banding Demonstration

Come visit our bird banding station! Weather permitting, find the bird banders just beyond the porch of the Coastal Ecology Center or under the large copper beech tree on campus ready to share their avian research with you. Learn about the data they record, and the fascinating natural history of the birds temporarily caught in the researchers’ mist nets. Banding will occur on Tuesday mornings (with the rain date of Wednesday) from June 3 – August 5. The most opportune time to visit the bird banding demonstration is between 7:30 and 9:30am.
