"Cheryl Rodey is a force of nature. Her voice can handle the subtle and sweet touches that a song needs at times but when she swoops in and belts out a tune with full force she is unstoppable.
A Chicago music veteran with a non stop schedule, Cheryl is a seasoned pro armed with original songs that mean business.
Her song “Peaches” is a full on jam with a fantastic groove and a huge chorus.
It’s one of those songs you hear and immediately know it could be a hit. It’s undeniably catchy in the best way, without caving to pop formulas.
Her song “Take Me Away” is an octave jumping musical journey that has all of Cheryl’s best elements combined. It’s soft in some spots to build the anticipation and then just takes off at times showcasing her fantastic range.
Her voice is truly amazing but don’t sleep on her as a guitar player either. Her music builds the template for the songs she creates and are a perfect match to her soaring vocals.
It would be easy to compare her to singers like Janis Joplin, but after listening more, she really has more control that is more akin to Aretha Franklin or Adele, because she can take a song wherever she wants it to go. All of that really isn’t fair though because she is 100% Cheryl Rodey all of the time."
