Future of Crickhowell High School's Sixth Form

Powys CC is currently consulting on options for post-16 education in the county. One of the options include closing the Sixth Form at Crickhowell High School and moving all post-16 provision in South Powys to Brecon. Crickhowell Town Council strongly opposes this and believes the closure of our Sixth Form at Crickhowell High School would be devastating for our town and would not solve the problems facing education in South Powys. We believe there are far better ways to raise educational standards than dismantling the most successful Sixth Form in Powys. We are going to be holding a community engagement event on Monday 30th June from 5.30pm in the Clarence Hall where we will be able to talk about the issues this raises. Please join us if you can and share widely.
