Back To Basics provides a fun and educational space for you to learn the essential, healthy, and fulfilling life skills of generations before us. Join us as we step away from the hectic pace of this current culture and embrace skills and traditions that benefit us and our families.
Local food is a positive trend but finding local farms and navigating some of the larger farmer’s markets in the area can leave you with questions: How do I connect with farmers? What do the labels mean? Is everything organic? Does everyone grow everything they sell? Can I save money shopping the farmer’s market? What the heck is kohlrabi??? Learn how to buy strategically, how to research your local farmer’s market before you go and what questions to ask once you get there from a farmer’s market vendor with the inside scoop! Bring a knife, vegetable peeler and a cutting board and we’ll put together a seasonal combination of ingredients found at the farmer’s market that can be used for quick meals any time of year.
