Obituary for Janice Mauk
April 4, 1934 to May 3, 2025

Janice Mauk, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 4, 1934, in Hardy, Virginia, she was one of nine children of Mary McKee Huff and Roy Hedrick.

Janice’s life was marked by her unwavering faith and devotion to her family. She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, where she found community and purpose since 1950. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and was a beacon of light for those around her.

In 2009, Janice relocated from Roanoke, Virginia, to California, where she cherished the opportunity to meet 12 of her 13 great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took great delight in nurturing the bonds that tied them together.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Mauk, who passed away in 2017. Together, they shared a life filled with love and laughter, and their legacy continues through their children and grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her son, Anthony (Tony) Mauk, and daughter-in-law, Susy Mauk, along with a three sisters, Sandra, Ramona, Connie (husband-Donnie) and many cousins, nephews and nieces that will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

A service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held 8 August 2025, 10:30 AM at Emmanual Weslynn Church and immediately afterward Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Airport Road, Roanoke, Virginia, where she and John will be laid to rest together.

Both Johnny (Dad) and Janice Mauk (Mom) will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
