As with the rest of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival at Balders Plads ( https://fb.me/e/5y1EjdfZH), the day's festivities are coloured by live & DJ led vinyl selectors.
Abdullah S;
SoulRiddim!!!
With his second album "Handmade Heavyweight Boogie 4 Babies", released at the end of 2018, Abdullah S established himself as one of Denmark’s most original soul artists!
Abdullah S’s self-produced, hand-played universe is built on the legacy of Funk, Riddim & Blues, and Jazz, with clear references to No Wave, Detroit Techno & Chicago House.
In addition to the debut album "Still Going Wrong" and the follow-up "Handmade Heavyweight Boogie 4 Babies", Abdullah S has recorded and toured with a long list of names, including Malk De Koijn, Ginman/Jørgensen, Booty Cologne, Eagger/Stunn, Jørgen Leth, Melissa Inya & Den Sorte Skole, among others.
On this lovely day, Abdullah S drops by with the fantastic Sjelberg brothers in a laid-back, cozy Sunday edition.
Expect something beautiful, free, and cool: contemporary soul.
Abdullah S – Keys, Vocals
Stunn – Drums, Vocals
Bastian Sjelberg – Bass, Vocals
