Library Crafternoons: Crochet for Pride

Learn to crochet a granny square with rainbow scraps and make it into a cute accessory in time for LGBTQ+ Pride 2025.

We will start with the basics and work at our own pace. If you are already a proficient crocheter please come and use the materials provided and make some new friends. Crochet is a wonderful way for everyone to relax and is particularly good for neurodivergent folks to learn to self regulate. Make some time for yourself and enjoy working with a joyful pile of colourful yarns. As this is a Pride themed workshop we especially welcome LGBTQ+ people to attend and strive to create a safe space where all genders and sexualities are celebrated and supported.

Our wonderful volunteer Tamsyn will be on hand to teach you the basics so you can explore your creativity. You will need to be available for ALL 3 SESSIONS to complete your piece: 2, 16 and 30 June. You will be able to take your work home between sessions.

Suitable for most levels of crafting ability. Some basic crochet skill is useful but not essential. This is an adult workshop, but older teens are welcome.
Contribution towards our ongoing craft materials stash £2 per session (pay on a day of craft).
NB: These are not toys and are not safe for children.

Please contact us at Tm9ydGhhbXB0b24gISBMaWJyYXJ5UGx1cyB8IHdlc3Rub3J0aGFudHMgISBnb3YgISB1aw== to book your place. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

If you are in need of refreshment, a complimentary hot drink is available at the Welcoming Spaces table on the first floor.
