Public talk: Weymouth as a seaside resort – from a King to commoners

Our series of public talks is back! Our first talk is on Friday 27th June, with guest speaker Allan Brodie, author of 'Weymouth's Seaside Heritage'.
In this richly illustrated talk, Allan will cover #Weymouth's illustrious history as a seaside resort, from 1748 and the rise of sea bathing, through King George III’s patronage of the town, and the growth of the resort during the Georgian and Victorian periods. Allan considers Weymouth’s colourful architectural heritage and how the town was transformed in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Tickets are available to book online and are £2.50 for Friends of Weymouth Museum members and £5.00 for visitors.
Doors open at 7:00 pm. Light refreshments are included. All are welcome to attend.
