Chaturanga (Low Plank) Workshop

Chaturanga Dandasana is translated as “four-limbed staff pose” but is often referred to in classes as “low plank”.

This is a challenging pose that forms a key part of Sun Salutations and is repeated frequently in many yoga practices. While it may seem simple, it requires strength, control and proper alignment to perform safely and effectively.

This workshop is designed to help you build a solid understanding of the foundations of Chaturanga, as well as the full movement pattern from high plank to low plank, and into upward dog or cobra. We’ll break down the technique step-by-step, offering layers of modifications and progressions to suit different bodies and levels of experience.

You’ll learn how to move with more awareness, build strength in key muscle groups and develop habits that protect your shoulders and wrists. Whether you’re new to the pose or looking to refine your form, this workshop will give you the tools to move with confidence and care every time it shows up in class.

Ideal for yoga students of all levels who want to deepen their understanding of this foundational transition.
