Confetti Stage is excited to announce its summer production - "William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (Abridged)" by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, directed by Nate Beynon, assisted by Steve Henel.

William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged) is the literary holy grail: an actual manuscript in Shakespeare’s own hand showing all his most famous characters and familiar speeches in a brand-new story. Abridged from 100 hours to 90 minutes, in this story, an ancient grudge pits Puck (from Midsummer) against Ariel (from The Tempest) and turns Shakespeare’s canon upside-down, creating such strange bedfellows as Hamlet and that master motivator Lady Macbeth, Viola and Richard III, King Lear and the Weird Sisters, and (of course) Dromio and Juliet. The work combines famous speeches and plots of Shakespeare’s thirty-nine plays to create a fast and snappy fortieth, complete with mistaken identities, wordplay, slapstick, and pure ridiculousness.

"William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (Abridged)" is directed by Nate Beynon, assisted by Steve Henel. It features Chris Kowalski, Ella McGrail, and Matthew Side.

Performances will be held at the Shaker Heritage Society at 25 Meeting House Road, Albany, NY 12211, on August 1-3 and 7-10. Performances are at 7:30 PM on Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays, with 2 PM Sunday matinees.
