Lunch and Learn: Sustainable Siting of Solar Photovoltaics

Dr. Ron Meyers will provide an introduction to how solar photovoltaics work, and can be used by households, neighborhoods, and communities for clean energy. He especially works with communities when large-scale (over 1 Megawatt, or about 8 acres) solar PV projects are proposed. There are many not so sustainable practices going on in Virginia, and he can share strategies for communities to require best practices in facility design, operation, and decommissioning of these projects.
