Muñecas Limé, also known as Dominican faceless dolls, were first crafted in the 1980s, but their cultural significance represents a heritage that goes all the way back to the 16th Century.
Join us at the Buttonwoods Museum on Thursday, July 9th from 1pm to 2pm for a children’s program celebrating these iconic dolls. Learn about the history and meaning behind Muñecas Limé, take a look at some of the dolls on display at the museum and get a chance to craft a miniature doll of your own!
This event is designed for kids kindergarten through sixth grade. It is free and open to the public, no pre-registration required!
This event was made possible through the support of a Mass Cultural Council Festivals & Projects grant and Cummings Foundation.
