A return to Victorian living - Intro to home canning

It's that time of season again! Our friends and neighbors crops, and those at The Judge Daly House, are abundant. Meanwhile grocery prices are high if obtainable at all. Come "live 1885" with us in the first of a series in Victorian living with an introduction to home canning. Our introductory class begins with high acid water bath canning to prepare you for our next class, pressure canning. Hot water bath canning requires no special tools but suggestions will be made during this hands on class, taught by Randy Wisnia, a long time homesteader. All materials, produce, and tools will be supplied for the class and at the end, you can take home your favorite jars. Class is limited to 10 participants so be sure to reserve early. The Judge John J Daly House is a working, learning laboratory in the fine art of country living. Imagine if you will, a time with no grocery stores, no power, no TV or internet, even gas for gas light generated right on the property, yet the Daly's lived high on the hog. Whether you are a prepper or simply enjoy a fun outing, come join us for this interesting and fun filled day! $25 payable at the door on the day of the event includes everything needed.
