Wild Tea Workshop: from forests to fields.

If you are a herbal tea drinker, then this workshop is for you.
Come for this 3 hour event to pick a variety of wild plants and herbs for your tea pantry!
Come and learn ten (maybe more!) different plants from the forest and fields for tea use.
-Learn the traditional uses of plants and herbs in our surrounding area.
-Learn how to process your plants and herbs for long term storage.
-Learn to ferment Fireweed leaves and Goldenrod leaves for that 'black tea vibe'. You will get the process started on site!
-Spend time gathering plants to take home to turn into medicinal teas or just everyday tea blends for your enjoyment. Many of these teas can be made into iced-tea blends for summer enjoyment!
Small mesh Bags will be provided to gather your herb/plants in.
What to Bring:
-Bring a fabric shopping bag to put your mesh bags (that have your gathered plants) in.
-Bring gardening gloves and clippers or scissors.
-Bring masking tape and sharpie for labeling your foraged plants.
-Bring a towel. We will be sitting down at one point to start to work on your fermented teas.
-Dress for weather. If it's pouring rain and storming, event will be canceled (and refunds given)
-Wear a good pair of runners or hiking shoes. NO sandals or flip flops!
-Wear PANTS. No shorts please. Jeans or hiking pants are best. Yoga pants and leggings get caught on bramble and nature seems to stick on them.
-Water Bottle and snack as we will be out there for 3 hours
-Bug Spray
-Sun screen (if you need it)
NOTE: you must be able to traverse uneven ground. We will be on an old clear-cut for part of our outing and it has some small stumps/logs/sticks to move over, and walk up to 2km (round trip). The walk is considered easy with a long gently sloped hill, with some off trail walking into clear-cuts. You must be physically fit enough to do this walk.
