Whitewater Wednesdays on the Lower American River
Join for a Wednesday paddle at the El Manto Clay Banks, and San Juan Rapid. This is a every other week paddle session for like minded whitewater paddlers in the Sacramento area looking to work on skills and have a blast with other paddlers in the area.

Meet at El Manto Access between 4:30 PM and 5:00 pm Wednesdays https://maps.app.goo.gl/iMxcSoAFsX9YSq1D7
Work on skills, teach skills, meet paddlers, and have fun!
Open to all—from beginners to Class V kayakers. (Some kayak roll and river experience is recommended)
What to Expect:
This is an informal weekly meet-up—not a class, no formal instruction. Show up, paddle, and connect!
The El Manto Claybanks to San Juan rapid section offers plenty of opportunities to work on ferries, eddy turns, surfing, rolling, and more. The claybanks offers Class I+ eddys to practice on and San Juan Rapid (Class II) provides a fun wave train, attainments, and small surf waves depending on flows. Overall a great spot to practice whitewater skills.
What to Bring:
Whitewater kayak, paddle, spray skirt, PFD, helmet, river shoes
Dry gear (drysuit/ wetsuit) & a change of clothes
