Have you ever considered keeping bees, but don’t know where to start? During this one-hour presentation, Valerie Cole from the York County Beekeepers Association (YCBA) will talk about getting started with bees as well as what you can do to help bee populations if you don’t want to actually keep them. She will bring some basic empty equipment and tools to show and will have a brief PowerPoint with lots of imagery. Registration is limited to 25 for the presentation. Sign up for the presentation here: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/L7Qq8-bPoK109OivAIFPLg

If you would like to visit an actual hive following the presentation, you may also sign up for an optional hive visit here: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/d9UmsYvr4D595__RMBJufw Registration will be limited to 10 for the hive visit. This second portion of the program is entirely weather-permitting. You will be responsible for driving yourself to a YCBA hive in Kittery directly after the presentation. If you would like to join for this hive visit, please wear long pants, sleeves, a light jacket, and consider bringing leather gloves. Bees can sting! We estimate it to go until about 1:00pm.
