Official Opening:
Saturday 5th July 3-6pm
As You Like It’ is an exhibition promising an exploration of creativity born of the desires and preferences of art buyers. This approach challenges traditional notions of artistic expression by focusing on audience engagement and satisfaction - resulting in an output appealing to collectors and art enthusiasts alike.Daniel Skeffington and Pete Steggall, are well-known ceramic artists returning to Cstudios, Newcastle.
Gallery visitors can expect to see how their latest works reflect a synthesis of personal style with contemporary market trends – while at the same time advancing the zeitgeist. Their new pieces showcase a developing evolution of their artistic techniques and themes. Daniel with sculptural-like beauty in form, and Pete with his continuing fascination (and the ceramic-loving community’s), of traditional ‘Shino ware’.Adding another layer to the exhibition, Canberra’s Jackie Lallemand's whimsical sculpture pottery dogs and chickens delivers charm and familiarity to the exhibition. Her work evokes simple joy – especially for those who appreciate the intersection of art and everyday life.Furthermore, Blaide Lallemand’s new colour studies introduce a conceptual dimension prompting our relationship with colour and form. Blaide’s artistic repertoire diversifies the exhibition and invites consideration of our personal perception and emotional response in art.
