Frog & Toad Survey

Join us for our first Frog & Toad Survey of the year! This event is a Citizen Science Opportunity focused on identifying the frog and toad species we have in our county parks. The data we collect during these surveys will establish a baseline of information we can use to monitor population trends in our native amphibians in the future. Expect a wetland hike after sunset, including several stops for careful listening and identifying the species we hear calling. Wear appropriate footwear for navigating in the dark and in wetter (and likely muddy!) environments. We encourage you to bring a headlamp or flashlight if you have one, though we will use them sparingly to minimize disturbing wildlife. Data sheets will be available for those who are interested in recording our observations and getting involved in Citizen Science.
