Roanoke-based, by way of Phoenix and Philadelphia, Michael & The Pentecost came together on Inauguration Day, 2017.
Employing a lonesome, dusty, brand of Americana, they’ve played stages from New York to Phoenix.
Barkley Cove
Barkley Cove is the band to watch in the new folk scene. Founded on group songwriting and improvisation, the band fearlessly mixes genres of folk, rock, country, and bluegrass to create a distinctively original musical style. After playing their first shows at local restaurants and bars while attending Millersville University, Barkley Cove has expanded its musical reach across Pennsylvania, most notably to Mickey’s Black Box in Lititz and Musikfest in Bethlehem. In 2024, they received the Spot Award for Best Collegiate Band from the Central Pennsylvania Music Awards. With the continued support of Pennsylvania’s music community, the group ambitiously seeks to bolster the returning audience of folk music. As this following grows, Barkley Cove hopes to utilize its imaginative songwriting and dedication to musicianship to push the boundaries of what folk music can be.
