RLHS 2025 Garden Club Field Trip: Montreal Botanical Garden

Following one of the most successful plant sales we've had in decades, we are very excited to announce a special Garden Club Field Trip this August to the Montreal Botanical Garden! Thanks to the higher than expected proceeds from the plant sale, we are pleased to be able to subsidize the cost of this trip for RLHS Members, bringing the price down to $30, which includes both round-trip transportation as well as admission to the garden.
While the trip is certainly geared toward Members, Non-Members are absolutely welcome to join, and you may sign up a friend or partner at the same time. The Non-Member price is $50. Alternatively, if your guest would like to join our Society for $15, they can pay the Member rate for the Field Trip instead, saving $5 overall. As always, you can become a RLHS Member through our website or in person at any of our events. Membership is good through September 30 (to align with our fiscal year).

Exact pickup times and locations will be announced later, but for now we’re working with a departure range of 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM, with a return between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, depending on the pick up point.
Locations will include:
Elgin
Portland
Hwy 15 & County Rd 5
We’ll be travelling in a coach bus with an onboard washroom – a notable upgrade from the school bus we used last year!
Fair Warning: There are only 56 seats available, and spots are already being reserved quickly. For transparency, the cost to hire the coach bus is $2000, and the group admission rate to the garden is $15 per person (discounted from the regular admission price). For Members, we are fully covering the cost of admission plus a portion of the bus fare. Non-Members are paying the full non-subsidized bus fare of $35, along with the same $15 discounted admission.
This is NOT a fundraiser – it’s a THANK-YOU to our Members! Our goal is to cover costs only, offset by the subsidy we’ve built into the budget (thanks to the plant sale). That said, it is absolutely critical that we fill the bus in order to make this work. We want to subsidize our Members and NOT empty seats!
