CALLING ALL BLOODSUCKERS!

Join Alternative Ulstours' 'Master of the Macabre' Andrew Johnston for an illustrated Terror Talk on Ireland's vampire lore, from 5th-century legends to 21st-century film sets.

Andrew will stake a claim for the 'Garvagh Vampire', Abhartach, being a primary inspiration on Bram Stoker's Dracula, as well as regaling the tale of the Dearg-Due, a tragic and beautiful creature from Waterford.

The night will offer explanations for Irish myths of vampirism, putting the subject in a global context for the times.

The talk will also explore a curious County Down connection to John William Polidori's 1819 work The Vampyre, before concluding with Belfast doubling for Transylvania in Dracula Untold, shot in Northern Ireland in the 2010s.

So, come along to the iconic Sunflower Public House, buy a drink, pull up a seat and let Andrew invite you into the domain of the undead!
