Lounging for Literacy II - The World's Largest Gathering of People Reading in Lawn Chairs!

Lounging for Literacy was the first fundraising event we hosted in 2007 to raise money for our then future library. To celebrate our 15th year in our "new" library, we decided to bring back this fun, community event. We know that libraries are essential community gathering places everywhere in the nation. We're hoping this event will go national, but in the meantime, we hope you'll invite your friends, bring your lawn chair and a favorite book (or borrow one from the library), and help us crush our 2007 record of the world's largest gathering of people reading in lawn chairs!

The event will also include book signings with local author Jim Armenti and photographer Dave Madeloni, local author Tzivia Gover, and fun children’s activities with local author Phaea Crede and local illustrator Marie Manley-Tucker. There will be a bake sale, a book-themed raffle, StoryWalk, Brightspot reading buddy dogs, and of course, a flock of lawn flamingos! We will also have a library-themed singalong with Jim Armenti-- including the debut performance of his new song "Lounging for Literacy"!
