Octopus Sculpting and Sprig Making with Stacy Morgan

In this hands-on workshop Stacy will share her techniques for sculpting octopus and applying them to functional and/or decorative forms. How to choose the placement and posture of the octopus for functionality and for visual appeal, the concepts of flow and composition, her texturizing and surface decoration techniques, basic preparation of decorative slip for trailing and the most effective means of safely drying, how to glaze for maximum impact and firing the finished pieces. She will also demonstrate how to create sprig molds made from her original small sculptures.
