ALBUM RELEASE PARTY for Secret Monkey Weekend:
Secret Monkey Weekend is a family power pop trio from Durham, produced by REM-Smithereens producer Don Dison. They were profiled by PBS awhile back in a fifteen minute piece. It won an Emmy! The band goes back to when Lila was 8 and Ella was 13. For the last 9 years, they have cut their teeth in music venues up and down the East Coast. They make their first trip to Mississippi and New York this August on a far reaching tour.
The Hoots:
The Hoots are roots rock Americana / ya'llternative five piece band from The Triangle.
Stephen's Pharmacy - Powered by the dynamic drumming and vocals of Stephen, the band locks into deep, driving grooves courtesy of Danny Kurtz on bass and vocals, while guitarists Andy Kerr and Bill McKelvey weave a swirling tapestry of fuzzed-out riffs, hypnotic melodies, and searing solos.
Though the band itself has been a fixture for ten years, these musicians are no strangers to the local circuit. With decades of experience in the Raleigh scene, they bring a seasoned energy to every show—tight, yet untamed. Their sound channels the spirit of classic garage rock, drenched in psychedelic textures, but with a modern edge that keeps their music urgent and fresh.
Whether on stage in a packed club or crafting new material, Stephen’s Pharmacy plays with an enthusiasm that feels like a late-night jam session gone perfectly right—unfiltered, electrifying, and always pushing the boundaries of their sonic chemistry.
