Traditional Skills Day is a celebration of building skills at Ulster Folk Museum. It's a day to discover heritage crafts and Ulster's building traditions.
With lots of opportunities to get hands on, you can see traditional building skills from signwriting and stonemasonry to stained glass making.
Come along on Saturday 16th August and find out how buildings were traditionally made in Ulster. Learn about why these skills are still relevant today. Take a look at what demonstrations will be on show;
- Signwriting, Gilding and Stained Glass Making
- Dry Stone Walling, Stone Masonry, and Lime Pointing
- Blacksmithing and Carpentry
- Willow Weaving and Linen Weaving
- Traditional Music, hands-on crafts and film screenings in the original Picture House
Presented in partnership with Construction Industry Training Board NI, we're hoping to inspire the next generation of master skills people with this showcase of artistry and skills, unique to construction in Ulster.
