The UGS will hold a farm walk at Lisgoole Abbey nr Enniskillen on Tuesday 24th June 2025
Lisgoole Abbey farm has been managed by Connor Donaldson since 2020 who changed the traditional Autumn calving suckler herd of Limousin x Belgian Blue cows to a maternally bred cow using Stabiliser genetics to produce a more fertile and easy calving cow.
Herd numbers have now increased to 100 Spring calving cows with replacements reared on the farm and male animals finished as bull beef along with females not suitable for breeding. A small dairy calf to beef enterprise has recently been introduced to increase stocking rate on the farm and it is planned to expand this enterprise.
The farm walk is open to UGS Members and Non-Members but prior booking is essential - for catering and biosecurity reasons. Booking is available via the UGS website or directly with Society Secretary George Reid on 07920 037910
