Mark your calendars, music lovers! I'm thrilled to announce an exciting event in collaboration with the Wisconsin Blues Hall of Fame to honor the incredible legacy of Paramount Records and its deep Wisconsin roots!
Join us on Tuesday, July 22nd, as we delve into the fascinating story of this groundbreaking record label, right here in our own backyard. From its humble beginnings to becoming a powerhouse of early blues and jazz, Paramount left an indelible mark on music history, and much of that story is tied to Wisconsin!
We'll be celebrating the iconic artists who recorded for Paramount, including the legendary Ma Rainey, the incredible Blind Blake, the influential Blind Lemon Jefferson, and so many more!
To bring these timeless tunes to life, I'm arranging for some of the region's finest musicians to perform the hits that defined an era. Get ready to tap your feet and maybe even sing along!
And as we groove to the music, I'll be sharing some of my favorite stories and insights about Paramount Records, its connection to Wisconsin (think Port Washington and Grafton!), and the incredible artists who made it all happen.
