y’all are formally invited to gather around the square, the second sunday in july, in way’s mills, for yet another day of shapes, loud anthems & shouts of sacred joy!
we’ll sing from 10 to 4, at way’s mills lovely community centre - a two-storey heritage building with wooden walls, ceiling and floors!
this is our second year, since the pandemic, organizing the eastern townships sacred harp all-day singing, but the day is also connected to a local singing tradition, being the twenty-seventh annual sacred harp event in the eastern townships (that we know of).
everyone is warmly welcome : no entry fee, no experience necessary, no pressure. only the very real joy of friendship and (loud) singing!

nous chanterons de 10h à 16h, au charmant centre communautaire de way’s mills — un bâtiment patrimonial sur deux étages, avec planchers, murs et plafonds tout en bois.
ce sera notre deuxième édition, depuis la pandémie, de cette journée de chant sacred harp dans les cantons-de-l’est, mais cet événement s’inscrit aussi dans une tradition locale : ce sera (à notre connaissance) la vingt-septième rencontre annuelle de chant sacred harp dans la région.
tout le monde est chaleureusement bienvenu·e : aucune expérience requise, aucune pression, aucun prix d’entrée. rien que la joie de l’amitié et le plaisir de chanter (fort)!

LOCATION
way’s mills community centre is located at 2081, chemin way’s mills, barnston-ouest (in québec, canada, on unceded abenaki land), J0B 1C0. the venue is wheelchair accessible, with bathrooms, kitchen area and a patio on the ground floor. singing will take place on the upper floor, which is accessible by stairs and elevator.
COVID19
masks are not required, but we welcome and support anyone who wishes to wear one. a same-day negative COVID test will be required at the door (a photo is fine). if you’re feeling unwell, please stay home—we’ll miss you, but we’ll sing together another time. we want to make it as accessible as possible for as many folks to join in for the day.
CHILDCARE
childcare will be available, more info to come.
HOUSING
housing is available with local singers. please reach out in advance if you need a place to stay, and we’ll try to match you with someone. camping is also possible nearby.
PARKING
free parking is available across the street from the community centre, with some charging stations for electric cars.
DINNER ON THE GROUNDS

le centre communautaire de way’s mills se trouve au 2081, chemin way’s mills, barnston-ouest (québec, canada, en territoire abénaki non cédé), J0B 1C0. le lieu est accessible en fauteuil roulant, avec toilettes, cuisine et terrasse au rez-de-chaussée. le chant aura lieu à l’étage, accessible par escalier et par ascenseur.
COVID-19
le port du masque n’est pas obligatoire, mais toute personne souhaitant en porter un sera la bienvenue. un test covid négatif daté du jour même (photo acceptée) sera demandé à l’entrée. si vous ne vous sentez pas bien, merci de rester à la maison — vous nous manquerez, mais on chantera ensemble une autre fois. notre but est de rendre la journée aussi accessible que possible pour toustes.
