This session runs in 2 parts:
11am – 11.30am Poi presentation.
A public presentation about ‘poi’ with Racquel McKenzie (Ngā Paerangi, Te Ātihaunui a Pāpārangi). Learn about whakapapa of the poi, history, types of poi and contemporary poi today.
Free, all welcome to this session.
11.40 - 12.30pm Poi making.
Following the presentation, there is the chance to take part in a poi making workshop and waiata session with Racquel.
Booking essential, $15 per person as a contribution to material costs. Book by calling 063490506 or book online. All materials will be supplied.
Poi making is limited to 20 people.
