Each October since the early 19th century, Officers in the Royal Navy have joined together to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Nelson’s famous victory is celebrated in mess decks and ward rooms all over the world, and in Services Lodge at Penarth Masonic Hall.
The Trafalgar Night dinner at Services Lodge is a sumptuous meal, with a number of long standing traditions such as a glass of port, speeches, toasts and commemorations, and a table place set for our Absent Brethren.
Services Lodge was created in 1952 by First World War Veterans for those returning from the Second World War. Our badge displays the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Army, Merchant Navy. We have traditions that permit serving military to wear uniforms in lodge, and all members & visitors are encouraged to wear mess miniatures for Dinner.
