Train ride 11AM Sunday, July 27, 2025!
The Old Colony & Newport Railway is excited to announce our first public excursion train from Newport, RI! Our last public Newport excursion departed in 2014 but we're back on track in 2025. The train will depart the station located at 19 America's Cup Ave, Newport, RI at 11AM for a 90 minute ride to Bayside Station. There the train will stop for a 15 minute layover before returning back to Newport. Passengers will be able to stretch their legs, take in the view of the bay, and use the bathroom facilities if needed during the station stop. Passengers will ride in a Budd Rail Diesel car built in the 1950's with views of Narragansett Bay not regularly seen by rail in years!
Ticket prices are $15 kids and for $20 adults. We are accepting cash and checks at the station. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. All proceeds go to preserving the Newport Secondary Rail Line and the historic equipment that operates on it.
