Nature Printing: Hammered Leaf and Flower Prints

In this workshop, we will explore one of the earliest methods of textile decoration. Flower pounding, or Tatakizome, is an ancient Japanese technique of hammering plants to create patterns on fabric. We will forage for plant material, then use various tools to transfer their colors and shapes to homemade paper. We will also explore methods of further enhancement, creating unique pieces of
