Are you ready to refine your wheel-throwing skills and explore new creative possibilities? Whether youβve taken our Try It Wheel Throwing class or have prior experience, this six-week course is your chance to elevate your pottery game.
Guided by Jason Brady, a talented local ceramics college professor, youβll master the foundations of throwing on the wheel and progress to creating bowls, mugs, plates, vases, and more.
Please note: Students must be 16 years or older to enroll in this course. For younger artists, we recommend checking out our Try It classes or booking a 1:1 wheel session tailored to beginners.
π¨ What to Expect:
π Week 1 β Foundations of Wheel Throwing
Learn essential clay terms, wedging techniques, and how to center, open, pull, and shape your first pieces
Get comfortable with your wheel and learn proper workstation care
π Weeks 2β6 β Progressive Skill Building
Build confidence week by week while tackling more intricate shapes
Practice trimming, refining forms, and attaching handles
During the final week, learn basic glazing techniques and prepare your work for firing
All finished pieces will be ready for pickup one week after the course concludes.
π Included in Your Experience:
6 sessions of hands-on instruction (2 hours each)
25 lbs of high-quality stoneware clay ($111 value β more available for purchase)
Pottery tools, personal shelf space, and all studio supplies
Bisque and glaze firings for your finished pieces
A Make It Clay membership ($135 value) for open studio time throughout the 6 weeks to practice and improve between sessions

Minimum of 3 students required to hold the class. If the class does not meet the minimum 48 hours before the first session, we will contact you to reschedule into another session or issue a refund
