Paddle Trip: Sugar River

Join us for a two hour paddle launching from Sugar River Forest Preserve and ending at Two Rivers Forest Preserve. Meeting place is Two Rivers Forest Preserve at the designated start time. We will then hop in the shuttle for a 10 minute drive to Sugar River Forest Preserve to start a fun paddle on the Sugar.
While not an expert trip, this trip is not for beginners. Fallen trees coupled with changing currents can test your navigation skills in a few spots. Good kayak control skill is required. You will need to be able to turn quickly, stop and hold your position by back-paddling, and guide your kayak through small gaps between the fallen trees. There may even be a complete blockage of the river that will require us to get out of our kayaks and portage. If you are not sure you are experienced enough to paddle this trip, please contact us.
