Kids 5-7: Summer Garden Picnic

Celebrate the magic of late summer with a picnic made from garden-fresh goodies! In this hands-on class, young chefs will explore the bright colors and delicious smells of seasonal produce—grating zucchini, mixing up corn fritters, slicing juicy tomatoes and cucumbers, and whipping cream for sweet berry shortcakes. We'll sip on refreshing herb- and fruit-infused water while learning where our food comes from and how fun it is to cook with the seasons.



Sample Menu: Zucchini-corn fritters with yogurt herb dip, garden cucumber-tomato salad, berry shortcakes, minty fruit water.


Students are encouraged to wear apron or clothes that can get a little messy, put on sneakers (no sandals, please), and bring a knife they feel confident using. Students will enjoy the meal they cook at the end of class.
