Due to inclement weather this meeting has been moved to September 15th. You’re invited to the next meeting of the Friends of the Library on September 15th at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at the Will Rogers Library, 1515 N. Florence. The guest speaker is Julia Bryan Thomas, a graduate of Northeastern State University and the Yale Writers’ Workshop. She writes contemporary and historical mysteries. Her novel, FOR THOSE WHO ARE LOST, was featured at the National Book Festival in 2023 to represent the state of Oklahoma. This book begins on the eve of the Nazi invasion of the island of Guernsey, when terrified parents have to choose whether to send their children alone to England, or keep the family together despite the risks of war. Her next book, THE RADCLIFFE LADIES’ READING CLUB explores how women make their own paths regardless of what’s expected of them, with the help of a supportive book club. Her third novel, THE KENNEDY GIRL, was published in January 2025. This book will appeal to history buffs and armchair travelers and is set in Paris during the Cold War era. Each of Ms. Thomas’ books has a 4-star rating on GoodReads. Please join us for this special program before we begin our summer break.
