Plein Air Pastel and Mixed Media 2025 - 2 day workshop

Have a box of soft pastels in your studio that you never use or work in another media but want to jazz things up a bit? Bring your curiosity to experiment and your pastels to this hands-on workshop, where we'll combine soft pastel with acrylic, watercolor or gouache; or a combination of all three. We’ll experiment with techniques to create atmospheric landscape effects, as well as work with still life, paying attention to how texture can be a tool for composition. More than a techniques class, we’ll be looking at color composition and have access to the Joseph Fiore exhibition as inspiration. Weather dependent, we’ll be working outside, with the gallery space as back up. In addition to your art supplies, bring water, snacks and a bag lunch.
